Yeotown’s Mindfulness Retreat Program
At Yeotown, our mindfulness retreat has evolved significantly to meet the needs of everyone, from high-flying executives at large corporations to those who own multi-million dollar businesses. Our seasoned leaders work with residents, introducing them to the art and practice of meditation with sitting sessions, periods of silence, and mindful walks. Alot of which takes inspiration from the Buddhist tradition.
Residents are cared for at Yeotown and have enough free time to reflect and rest. It is an opportunity for them to decompress after years of working in stressful environments. Furthermore, they are given a chance to connect with nature in an especially chosen location.

Why We Practice Mindfulness At Meditation Retreats?
A mindfulness practice dates back several centuries and is mainly the basic human ability to be present and aware of where we are and what we are engaged in. However, the key is not being overly reactive or overwhelmed by the happenings around us.
Interestingly we all possess the natural ability to be mindful, but it is more readily available when we practice this daily. You are in a mindful state when you are aware of what you are experiencing via all your senses or your state of mind and thoughts. Plus, immense research shows that when the brain is trained to be mindful, you are remodelling its physical anatomy. That is why a wellness break is so important.
How Does Mindful Practice Work in Everyday Life?
Mindfulness is simple, but it allows us to distance ourselves from reactions and breakdown conditioned responses. Below we’ll go into briefly how to tune into mindfulness every day:
Start by setting aside some time – if you are practising mindfulness at home or in the office, remember that there is no need to have a bench, cushion, or any other equipment to practice mindfulness skills. However, you will want to set aside some space and time.
Observe your present as it is – The goal of mindfulness is not to immediately quiet the mind or attempt to achieve eternal calm. The goal here is simple: to pay attention to the present moment without being judgmental about it. But we know this can be easier said than done.
Not being judgmental – You will often start judging things during your practice, but it is essential to note them and allow them to pass. The professionals at our meditation retreat centre help those who are meditating for the first time understand the importance of this approach.
Bring your mind to observing the present – It isn’t unusual for our minds to get carried out into the world of thoughts. It is often a chain of thoughts that lead us away. Mindfulness is a practice that helps teach your brain to return, often having to return multiple times to the present.
Be generous and kind to your mind – The important part is not to judge yourself, regardless of what thoughts come up. It would help if you continued to practice recognising when the mind has been led away from the present and then lead it back gently. That is what our silent meditation retreats help accomplish during mindfulness practices.
That’s it right there; that is what we teach at our wellness retreats. However, the practice takes time; you need a calm and understanding environment. Once you have understood and are in the habit of mindfulness, it will become part of your daily life, benefiting your mind and body.

Mindfulness in Yeotown Is About Connecting with Natural World
We invite you to experience Yeotown’s awe-inspiring and spiritually nourishing environment with mindfulness meditation. Our goal is to help you connect spiritually with nature and, more importantly, the world around you. This connection with nature is essential because:
You will become aware of how everyone is a part of nature, regardless of how we may artificially separate ourselves from it.
It allows you to pay attention to and appreciate the world around us while being mindful of the effects your actions have on it.
You will have the opportunity to explore nature through your natural senses and personal creativity. If anything, this is the best way to explore the world around you; it is similar to how everyone did this when they were young.
Gain an understanding that we need this planet and its finite resources; thus, it needs our respect. Being mindful of this puts your mind, body, and the universe in alignment.
Improving Your Mental and Physical Health
Our mindfulness retreats are one of the best ways to manage stress, anxiety, and depression. Often the root cause of depression is stress. People who work in high-stress environments often find themselves depressed and anxious. However, our retreats may not be suitable for someone with major depression or a psychiatric disorder.
We have daily practices that help people improve their mental and physical health during their stay with us. Our team helps people by walking them through various methods and sessions, which include reflecting on their lives.
Many have told us that our mindfulness retreat had changed their lives because they don’t see things the way they used to in the past. This new recognition of life helps them become better people.
We Are More Than A Detox Bootcamp That Offers Healing Spa Treatments
At Yeotown, we are more than a spa or a boot camp for people who aspire to lose weight or detox. Our approach takes the mind and body as a whole, with the goal of healing both, which is why we are proud to have won the Tatler Award for ‘Life Changing Spa’ and the ‘Code Nast Traveler Award’ for Best Spa Retreat in the UK.
Our team has developed and honed a proven formula for helping our residents achieve a very high level of well-being by inspiring them to take control of their minds and bodies. However, any weight our residents lose during the process is mainly owing to our energizing programme. All residents go through a 4-day Yeotox by Yeotown program weekly in Madeira and Devon.
We have spent over 12 years working with people like you. This is not a temporary solution to your stress or burnout; in fact, this is a permanent one, unlike bootcamps, juice fast retreats, and various other holidays. Regardless of your background or present level of fitness and health, we can help you achieve your goals.
Now is the time to take ownership of your health, control your wellbeing and take your life to the next level of achievement, engagement, and enjoyment.
We Take An Environmentally Friendly Approach
At Yeotown, we remain committed to providing an organic and natural experience to all our residents. Our award-winning Yeotox programme, part of our mindfulness retreat, has a minimal environmental impact. The Yeotown team works with carefully sourced suppliers, which allows us to deliver excellent standards without compromising the health of our planet.
Yeotox’s menu is created using primarily locally sourced and organic ingredients. We discard all waste into compost, which is reused in our gardens. Our eco-cottages mainly use eco-technology that’s insulated coupled with straw bay hale, and we use solar energy while ensuring that all cleaning is carried out using green products.
All Yeotown bathrooms are laden with organic Highland Soap Company toiletries, all of which we create using cutting-edge science to ensure we use the finest and purest ingredients. These ingredients help to enhance our resident’s experience and improve their health.
Our Yeotown hot tub is mainly heated using a wood-burning stove, which is free from all chemicals. The Yeotown field utilizes compost across a large area, where the recycles are used. We also support the Joshua Tree Project and Surfers Against Sewage.
